Basic Methods in Pharmacoepidemiology, 2023

We are happy to offer a one-day course on basic methods in pharmacoepidemiology.

The course will be highly relevant for those new to the world of pharmacoepidemiology, such as pre-graduate research year students, research assistants or PhD students, as well as those working within the field of drug safety but not directly with pharmacoepidemiology, e.g., data managers or people working with pharmacovigilance. The course program includes:

  • Welcome
  • Introduction to study designs, bias and measures
  • The cohort study design
  • The case-control study design
  • Intro to drug utilization research
  • Considerations re. Exposure ascertainment
  • Considerations re. Outcome ascertainment
  • Bias
  • Confounding
  • Goodbye

Nordic collaboration: We wish to strengthen collaboration between researchers in the Nordic countries and therefore encourage participation from all Nordic countries.

Date: May 3, 2023. 9.00-15.30 (Note start of the course changed from 9.30 to 9.00)

Place: University of Southern Denmark, Odense, Denmark or online.

Price: Participation is free for students and for members of DSFE in Denmark and DURG Norge in Norway. For other participants, the course fee is DKK 500.
