The clinical implications of pharmacoepidemiological research

The Danish Society for Pharmacoepidemiology held the annual meeting in Odense on the 31st October 2019. The theme of the day was: “Clinical implications of pharmacoepidemiology research – past experience and future directions”.

  • Three of the founding fathers of pharmacoepidemiology in Denmark: Professors Henrik Toft Sørensen (Aarhus University), Gunnar Gislason (Copenhagen University Hospital Gentofte), and Jesper Hallas (University of Southern Denmark) will give talks about the clinical implications of their pharmacoepidemiology research.
  • Liam Smeeth, Professor at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine will give a talk about the future directions in pharmacoepidemiology.
  • Nikolai Brun, Director of Division in the Danish Medical Agency will outline the setup and perspectives of the new data analysis center in the Danish Medicines Agency, aimed at examining post-marketing drug safety and efficacy.
  • Olaf Klungel, Professor at Utrecht University will give a talk on designing and analyzing large scale multi-national pharmacoepidemiological studies.
